Fingerpicking on the guitar can refer to lots of different playing styles. It often refers to arrangements where the bass, on strings 4, 5 and 6, have one pattern played by the thumb, while the other fingers play another pattern. It's much easier to express what fingerpicking is by giving an example of it. You can learn how to start guitar fingerpicking with the example that follows.
